Location and access
You reach the A7 via Suederbrarup in 30 minutes, Schleswig is 35 kilometres west, Flensburg 40 kilometres north west and Eckernfoerde 30 kilometres south. There is no railway connection.
Economy and construction sites
Boatbuilding and service firms work in the harbour, and metal and trade businesses on the Kappeln commercial estate. The hotels along the Schlei award refurbishment work outside the season. Larger industrial assignments lead to Flensburg or Schleswig.

The price range is 22 to 44 euros per person per night, at the upper end in summer. Between October and April Kappeln is considerably cheaper and bookable at short notice, because the holiday flats are free then.
