Sankt Peter-Ording lies at the western tip of the Eiderstedt peninsula and, with its twelve kilometre sandy beach and stilt houses, is one of the best known North Sea resorts in Germany. For contractors it is a purely seasonal location.
Location and access
You reach the A23 via Heide in 50 minutes, Toenning is 15 kilometres east, Husum 40 kilometres north east and Heide 45 kilometres south east. The station links the town with Hamburg via Husum.
Economy and construction sites
Hotel, catering and clinic businesses are the dominant employer and have their buildings refurbished mainly between November and March. That is exactly when tradespeople are needed. The stilt houses on the beach require regular timber and steel work.

The price range runs from 26 to 52 euros per person per night. Between June and September we place practically nothing here, because every building is occupied by holidaymakers. For winter projects, by contrast, supply is good.
